Once each year, the Board of Regents, the 35 USG colleges and universities and our public and private supporters come together to celebrate and honor those who bring excellence to higher education in Georgia. The Regents’ Salute to Education supports the philanthropic mission of the Foundation by raising funds for scholarships and outstanding faculty recognition awards. Additionally, the event recognizes outstanding alumni who exemplify outstanding leadership and support of higher education in Georgia. Most importantly, the event ensures the future successes of our students, through proceeds-funded scholarships to all 35 USG colleges and universities.
Close to 1,000 guests were in attendance. Guests included representatives from our colleges and universities, institutional foundations, distinguished faculty and administrators, elected officials, and supporters of higher education.
Evening Festivities
Guests attending this black tie event enjoyed a cocktail reception with a live and silent auction, followed by a dinner, entertainment, and awards presentation. Auction items included student and faculty artwork, gift certificates, event tickets, lodging, vacation homes, and airline tickets.
