Giving to the Foundation

There are a number of ways you can support public higher education in Georgia through the USG Foundation.

  1. Become a sponsor of the Regents’ Salute to Education

All proceeds from the event go to

    • Provide funding for the President’s Choice Scholarships to students representing every institution in the University System.
    • Promote academic excellence through the recognition of outstanding faculty honored at the Gala event.
    • Advance the USG’s Mission and Strategic Plan through the professional and financial support of USG institutions, the USG System Office, the Office of the Chancellor and the Board of Regents.
    • Build the Foundation corpus to ensure the sustainability of continued support of the University System and the institutions. See Sponsorship Opportunities for more information
  2. Contribute to the Corporate Scholars Fund – Gifts of $50,000 and above

The Corporate Scholars Fund is an ideal vehicle for corporations or foundations who want their gift to have a state-wide impact.

Contributions to the Corporate Scholar Fund will go directly to benefit students on multiple USG campuses. The donor selects the campuses, the amount of the awards and the criteria. The USG Foundation manages the award disbursement to the institutions, oversees the recognition program, and provides reports to the donor.

Benefits for becoming a Corporate Scholar include:

    • Your corporation or foundation featured on the home page of the Board of Regent website
    • Recognize your corporation or foundation at a Board of Regents meeting
    • Prominent recognition on the USG Foundation website – See SunTrust Scholars
    • Your logo on merchandise given to the selected students
    • Recognition at the USG Foundation Regents’ Salute to Education
    • A press release sent to major and local media outlets to generate state-wide and regional recognition
  3. Designate your contribution for a special program or initiative

You can designate your gift to an existing scholarship fund or initiative, such as the African American Male Initiative, or create a new designated fund to be managed by the University System of Georgia Foundation. All gifts are recognized on the USG Foundation website and the annual report. Additional benefits received will depend on the selected initiative.

  4. Make a donation

Your gift will go to support the work of the public education in Georgia and the University System of Georgia by Advance the USG’s Mission and Strategic Plan
